We had a great open house last Sunday and felt such a wonderful warm welcome from our local community. Thank you for your support as we get our new community art center going! We have some fabulously fun family classes and events coming up! Our October classes for children and families include Printmaking, Paper Mache Pumpkins and Masks, Halloween Costume Making (a free event for members!) and parents, mark your calendars, October 24th is your chance to plan an evening out on the town (or a quiet one at home), while your kids enjoy the art center with arts and crafts and games at our first Parents’ Night Out! A pizza dinner will be provided and allergies accommodated. We also offer after school art classes on Mondays and Wednesdays for children 5-11. And Toddler Time will start up in November (free coffee for parents while the kiddos get creative with our supplies!) There’s a lot going on! Come be a part of it!
In addition to classes for kids, families and adults, we’ll always have a selection of artwork and crafts from local artists and artisans for sale. Are you an artist, artisan or maker? We’ll transform our space into an arts & artisan market this November and December for the holiday season and are looking for more great work to sell. Birthday Parties!
Do you know where you’ll be having your child’s next birthday party? Consider having an arts and crafts party at the center! We’ll set up different age-appropriate art and craft stations and provide guidance for the guests as well as play art themed games. If you’re interested, please email us ASAP to reserve your desired date and time!
Want to help?
We’re still getting set up and are in need of quite a few items, which we hope we might be able to find in the community at yard sale prices. Our wish list includes: folding tables and chairs, a coffee table, side tables, a love seat and plush chair, a changing table, art & craft supplies of all kinds, office supplies, retail display items, a TV and DVD player or projector, lamps, shelving, storage bins and tubs, tools, games, blankets, random stuff for still life arrangements and well… you get the idea. If you don’t need it anymore, we’ll probably want it! We greatly appreciate any and all offers!
