About Mary:
Mary Fitzgerald is a twenty-one year old student from St.Johnsbury, Vermont. She moved to Burlington last fall to begin taking classes and working after two years filled with various travel and work experiences. In the spring of 2013, Mary flew to Panama to work with a team of interns in the small village of San Miguel. While there, Mary taught ESL to K-5th graders and ran an after school art program with the same grades. In previous summers, Mary has also worked with many different age groups of children in a summer day-camp. Next fall, Mary plans to major in art education to further her dream of becoming an art teacher. Nothing excites her more then crafts and art work! When Mary is not in school or working, you can usually find her at her home with her two golden retrievers. She has the biggest soft spot for animals, children, and candy! Mary’s favorite place to bring her dogs is Dog Mountain, in St.Johnsbury, and she brings them hiking there whenever she gets the chance. Mary loves any opportunity she has has to combine art and the outdoors. Putting her two favorite things together and teaching it to a younger generation could not be more satisfying to her! Mary looks forward to this summer with fresh faces, new crafts, and lots of fun!
