One Arts is a nonprofit that focuses on access to creative education for all ages. Our early learning center in the old north end, on N Winooski Ave, is raising money to provide tuition assistance to four new American refugee families. We are working to raise 20k this giving season, to cover the cost of childcare for a year (through the end of august), as these families adjust to their new homes. All families are facing challenges of being new immigrants and by ensuring access to childcare, we can help them have the chance to adjust to life here, as they find jobs, work to learn English, etc.
